Author Visits

Elizabeth and Lucky are available for school visits. One of Elizabeth's favorite aspects of being an author is meeting with kids at schools and sharing Lucky's stories. (Lucky loves it too!)

Through Lucky’s eyes, students will learn valuable life lessons like making new friends, accepting others, and the power of community, kindness, gratitude, and teamwork. These themes deeply resonate with elementary-aged students and tie in beautifully with classroom discussions around character education. Plus, they’ll have the chance to meet Lucky, the real-life star of the stories!

Our presentations are geared towards k-3rd grade and are not only fun but educational, giving students a behind-the-scenes look at the writing process—from how the true story of Lucky’s journey inspired the books to how picture books are created. We’ve recently expanded the experience with our newly published Gratitude and Reading Journals, incorporating them into the visits to inspire reflection and creative thinking.

Also included is a reading of the selected book and Q&A.

Books are offered to students at a discounted rate, personalized and signed.

Call or email Elizabeth to discuss author visit options and set up your visit! We would be thrilled to come to your school!

What teachers/librarians are saying about Elizabeth's presentations.

Elizabeth's presentation was informative and engaging.  Her description of how the story was written was relevant to what my students are currently learning.  I am looking forward to adding Elizabeth's books to my classroom library.

Cindy Matracia, 2nd grade teacher

Elizabeth was very professional and easy to work with in finding a time for her to come visit my school. Elizabeth and Lucky made the presentation interesting/exciting for the younger students. The students at my school enjoyed the story and being able to see what the main character of the story, Lucky, looked like since it was loosely based on a true story.

Aimee Smi, Librarian

Elizabeth inspired my students to want to create animal stories just like the adventures of Lucky and Hershey!

Catherine Blish, 2nd grade teacher

The presentation was fantastic! I thought the pace was perfect for our elementary students, and you discussed everything that is interesting to them. An excellent kick-off to PARP!

Sara Oliver, Librarian

It was perfect in content and time for my second grade students, the presentation was engaging and informative. The students loved the virtual visit from Elizabeth. Meeting Lucky and Hershey was a bonus!!

Patrica Hopfenberg 2nd grade Teacher

The students loved meeting Lucky (and Elizabeth!) and learning about her adventures in Saratoga. Seeing all of the local landmarks in the book was exciting for the children because they were familiar with them. It was a very engaging presentation.
